Making balance training fun, safe & easy
Everyone meet Boar the polar bear!
Boar's favourite sports were snowboarding and skiing, but unfortunately with global warming, his snowy playground has begun to melt. He now has to spend a lot more time in the ocean and has taken up surfing to keep him happy and improve his balance.
Boar will be back to tell us more about the importance of treating our fragile world with respect and how you can help us protect the polar bears and fight climate change.
Discover your child’s inner talents
The Original Grom Rocker was designed as a fun, safe and easy way to train kids’ balance skills from an early age.
Whether you’re a surfer, snowboarder, skateboarder or skimboarder, the Original Grom Rocker is a great way to hone your kids’ skills early on, before letting them loose in the elements!
A Little About Our Products
Sustainable
The products we were to use was important to us. We wanted to avoid plastic at all cost and offer a natural bespoke hand finished at home product that was completely sustainable (see sustainability). This we felt was as important as the board itself.
Environmentally FrIendly
We wanted the children to be aware about the importance of the environment and the products we use. Having these boards made locally to us meant less need for shipping across the world to achieve a cheaper price.
High Quality
We didn’t want to compromise on quality of the products or have a heavy carbon footprint just to keep the costs low. We wanted to make sure we have a locally made solid durable product that will last generations.
Who We Are
Growing up in southwest Devon and spending our childhoods on surfboards and skateboards was a natural right of passage for the aspiring Grom. From once being a Grom in our large group of friends to then having Groms of our own. We then wanted our own Groms to get a head start on the concept of balancing. ‘How old should our kids be before they are on skateboards or surfboards....1 or 2, perhaps or maybe too young?? This is where the idea to start the balance journey younger was developed.
What We Wanted
We wanted a flat board that could rock like a rocking horse but offer sides and a handle for support and comfort. This then meant we could start them on the balancing journey once standing on two feet. It also gave us the chance to encourage stance positions.
